Jill Casty’s art in public places has been commissioned for both civic and commercial sites.  Her work for civic organizations has been created for city and educational buildings, plazas, streets, hospitals, libraries, parks and recreation areas. This art has focused on large-scale keynote sculptures for major outdoor locations and varied forms and sets of mobiles and aerial art for interior settings.  For major commercial locations, she has created sets of standing and aerial art, including mobiles, often in extensive unified programs involving hundreds of individual pieces.

Her art responds fully and directly to the site she is working with as she seeks to capture the spirit of a place and its everyday life and functions.  While enhancing, enlivening the experience of its people, its community, in imaginative, lively, colorful ways.  To bring a special moment to the experiencing of the day—a touch of light-hearted grace.

The materials of her work are crisp and clean, upbeat, with a positive, joyful charge, a verve.  In striking combinations, these include aluminum and steel, whether painted or natural;  fused glass;  Plexiglas with its durable bright colors, capturing and reflecting light.
